This is a must have product for all of your camera lenses. I purchase my UV filters to protect my lens. It will take high impact. That is exactly why I recently purchased this filter. My camera had fallen at a wedding I was shooting and it cracked the filter. It did its job and my $1000 lens is fine. I decided to purchase the Hoya brand because I respect their products.

Bought two of them to protect my expensive lenses. Thay are doing the job just fine. Some people say that cheap UV's affect image quality a little -- not a problem for me. If you want image-quality-perfection, you can buy those muti-coated UV's, of course they are gonna be more expensive.

Paid just fifteen dollars for it. The glass used for this filter is about as sharp as one would expect from Hoya, but not it's build quality. You can hear the glass rattle with just a gentle shake, or finger tap. I don't think thats cool at any price, but I quess it will perform it's intended purpose.

I have one of these for each of my lens. My old Kodak camera came with one of these so I was not use to keeping track of the lens cap. What a pain! When I got my rebel I was very disapointed and I was always misplacing my lens cap. For very little money this took care of the problem!


Lens Cap Must Have

After purchasing my Canon Rebel I realized that unlike my previous Canon the Rebel did not have a lens cap string. You have to remove the lens cap and place it somewhere. With this product you can remove it and let it hang. Its simply wonderful.

This continuous lighting kits are ideal for small to medium photo studio. For portraits or larger product photography, one light kit can be used as your main light that defines the subject and the second light can be use as the fill light to reduce your contrast levels. The light is soft. You could move it easily to any photo place and setup them quickly.

Exactly what I wanted

After fooling around with custom lighting solutions for a while (desk lamps and tracing paper diffusers), this was a welcome upgrade to my setup. I've only been doing product photography for about a year, but was able to notice quite an improvement moving to these lights. The bulbs included aren't terribly bright so you'll probably have to upgrade if you're not capturing motionless objects. My shots at 100 ISO, f/3ish~f/5ish generally require 1/10s up to 1/4s or more for shutter speed when using only these lights.



Bottom line, seems like you get what you pay for. A nice beginner set to give you a taste of better lighting.

I bought these for my home studio and it does a great job. It doesn't come with instructions, but very easy to assemble. The great things about these is that you can replace them w/ daylight bulbs at your retail stores. It maybe a littl loose, but just make sure the light is tilted upwards where it will stay in place and works just fine. I would recommend this for starters and great price for 40in umbrellas! I would order thru this co. again.

Hoya 67mm UV filter

Cheap but not useful. Buy one for my Nikkor 18-70mm as a scratch protection. It gave serious ghost and flare effects to the pictures. Don't want to re turn it because it cheap so the shipping may cost half of the price. Buy another 67mm Tiffen UV filter to replace it.


Hoya UV Haze filter

I purchased this filter to protect the front lens element on an expensive zoom lens. To test the filter for image qualiity effects, I took two photos of the same scene with the camera mounted on a tripod.



I then magnified the pictures on my computer and looked for any loss of image quality. Within the limits of the image on my monitor, I observed not loss in image quality.



This filter replaced one that I had on the lens that broke. I'd rather pay for a replacement filter than a much more expensive camera lens.
